I love Chestnut trees. The shape of the crown; the size and color of the leaves, everything.
When I grew up we had one behind our house, we always collected the chestnuts in Fall and made people out of them with match sticks.

We have one in front of our house, it was already there when we bought the property. We suspect that it is around twenty years old.
Our tree is dying, it has a bacterial disease that kills it. All over Holland Chestnut trees are dying and there is no cure.
This will be its last Fall. We will have to cut it down in Spring next year.
Maybe I'll plant this seed and grow a new son of our friend.
